Kalindi khal is the most famous trekking pass in the Garhwal Himalaya. It a challenging high altitude glacial trek.
Kalindi khal is a high altitude mountain pass connecting Gangotri and Ghastoli. It is situated at 5,942 metres (19,495 ft) elevation. The pass is heavily glaciated. The glacier west of the pass flows into the Gangotri Glacier which forms the source of the Ganges.

On this trek expect a variety of landscapes, long glacier walks and amazing big mountain views!

The Area

This trek lies inside the Gangotri National park near Uttarkashi. The Char Dham lies in Uttarakhand and is thus called Dev Bhoomi (Gods abode).This area is a major Hindu tourist/pilgrim destination. The native language is Garhwali and the people are often referred as Pahadi (Mountain folk).

How are we making it different?

We take smaller groups. Our trip leaders (2 trip leaders for this one apart from 2 guides) are certified (NOLS) and experienced in handling medical emergencies. We will maintain a staff to trekker ratio of 2:1 while maneuvering the technical parts. We carry safety equipments like helmets, ropes, harness, Stretchers (for emergencies)and multiple oxygen cylinders.

  • Chances of rain/Hail – Mild to moderate rain can be expected in June.(Though monsoon hits most parts of the country in June it reaches Uttrakhand properly only after the 15th of June.

Sep-Oct

Trip price includes:

  • Meals or drinks purchased by participants during the travel or trek (example biscuits, fruits etc)

  • Backpack offloading charges. You are expected to carry your own backpack. Trekkers unable to do so can opt for a porterage service at ₹400/day.
