Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world: 5,895 metres (19,341 ft). This snow-capped peak of Africa is a dormant volcano.

It is part of the Kilimanjaro National Park that houses among other animals, elephants, cape buffaloes, and indigenous species such as the Kilimanjaro shrew and the chameleon Kinyongia tavetana. The Tussock Grassland is an area on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro that contains many unique species of vegetation.

Expected weather:

At the base of the mountain, the average temperature is around 21 to 27 °C and at the summit, Uhuru Peak, the night time temperatures can range between -7 to -29 degrees Celsius. Rainfall during November is high with an average of 110mm (4.3 inches).

Day 1: Pick up from Airport and check in to Hotel
Pick up from Kilimanjaro airport, and drive to hotel in Arusha Overnight stay in hotel/BB

Day 2: Drive to Londorosi gate, drive to Lemosho, Hike up to Mti Mkubwa (2840 m)
After breakfast drive to Londorosi gate for formalities and registration. Then drive to Lemosho starting point, this will take up to 4 hrs. Drop off at starting point, begin hike along the rain forest up to Mti Mkubwa which will take 3-4 hrs.

Day 3: Hike to Baranco camp (3950 m) via Laver tower (4600 m)  After breakfast continue to Baranco camp via Laver tower which is an alpine desert. Today is bit of a  long day - 5-7 hrs hike.

Day 4: Hike to Karanga valley campsite (3900 m)
Today is a short day. We start after breakfast with steep climb of Barranco wall for about hour to reach the top of it, then continue on to some descents and ascents to cross some valleys to reach Karanga valley campsite. All in all it will take up to 3 hrs to reach the campsite

Day 5: Hike to Barafu base camp (4600 m)
Another short day and preparation for big day of summit. After breakfast continue hiking to Barafu base camp, that'll take up to 3 hrs
Evening: Briefing and preparation for summit and early to bed

Day 6: Buffer day

Day 7: Summit attempt (5859 m) and hike to Mweka base camp (3100 m) via Barafu base camp
Wake up at 11:30pm. prepare for warm and windbreaker clothes, have cup of tea with cookies, start the summit climbing.
It is steep most of the way and with scree.  Push hard and attempt to catch the sun rise on the top or within stella point on the way to the summit.
Break for rest and hot drinks at Stella point.
From Stella point to Uhuru peak it is another 45min.
On reaching the summit you get 15 mins to celebrate the climb and take some photos before we start to descend,  to Mweka campsite via Barafu base camp. We break at Barafu base camp for short rest and lunch, and continue to Mweka camp,
It will take 5-8 hrs to reach the summit, 3 hrs from summit to Barafu base camp and another 3 hrs to Mweka camp

Day 8: Hike to Mweka gate and drive to hotel
After breakfast continue to Mweka gate where you will be picked and drive back to hotel in Arusha.

Day 9: Game day / Safari - Ngorongoro crater
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro crater for game and crater exploring. Leave crater to Serengeti national park.
Overnight at lodge/ campsite,

Day 10: Safari at Serengeti national park
Start after an early breakfast with picnic lunch drive to northern Serengeti for migration and possibility of seeing crossing mara river. Overnight at lodge/ camp;

Day 11: Depart from the hotel to the airport for your flight back home.
