Mountaineering has picked up big time in our country. Increasing number of trekkers are graduating to mountaineering and semi-mountaineering peaks.

Just as trekkers are expected to prepare for a trek, being well prepared with correct technical skills and techniques is a must when a trekker chooses to go for a mountaineering expedition.

Ice climbing is an activity of climbing on frozen surfaces such as icefalls, frozen waterfalls, and cliffs and rock slabs covered with ice. This activity requires correct technique and proper gear and equipment.

This workshop is aimed at trekkers who want to learn the sport of ice climbing. In this workshop the participants will be taught different ice climbing techniques by instructors who are experts in this sport, and have years of experience in ice climbing.

By the end of this workshop the participants will have learnt basic ice climbing skills and techniques, and will also be able to comfortably go for mountaineering expeditions where you are required to use ice tools and ropes to climb mountains.

You will find all the information about the physical fitness required for this workshop, how one can prepare (recommended workouts and exercises), and the gear (climbing and non climbing) in the FAQ section.
